Description
The OMG-ULTRA-485-PCI is asingle channel PCI bus serial I/Oadaptor. It provides one fieldselectable RS422/485/530 serialport supporting asynchronous datarates up to 460.8K bps.
The OMG-ULTRA-485-PCI utilizesthe 16850 UART communicationschip which features programmablebaud rates, data format, interruptcontrol and 128 byte FIFO.
Choose the RS422 mode for longdistance device connections up to4000 feet where noise immunityand high data integrity are essential.Select RS485 and capture datafrom multiple peripherals in anRS485 multi-drop network. Upto 31 RS485 devices can beconnected to each port to automateyour data collection.
In RS485 mode, the special auto-enablefeature allows the RS485port to be viewed by the operatingsystem as a COM port. This allowsthe standard COM driver to beutilized for RS485 communications.The on-board hardwareautomatically handles the RS485driver enable.
