Description The 150 mm High/Low Alarm Flow Meter with OpticalSensor Switch is a noninvasive means for detection ofa HI or LOW flow. This sensor is ideal for signaling analarm, cutoff valve, or other device when the floatpasses the detector (alarm, valve, etc. not included).
The FLSW Series helps protect your processes andequipment from damage caused by extreme flowrates. Its compact design and ease of operationmake it a unobtrusive, simple-to-use addition to yourflow meter.
This meter is perfect for OEM applications. Usewhenever maximum or minimum flow levels need tobe monitored automatically.
The FLSW Series also can be used in conjunctionwith a control relay to power alternate equipment ormonitoring devices.
Principle of Operation
A small, LED sensor and receiver are mounted onone side of the flow meter. The float inside the flowtube is detected as it passes across the beam of light.Sensor can be used to detect float passage beyondthe setpoint of the sensor. It can also be set to monitorfloat position at a specific level, signalling when float isoutside of the range of the sensor light beam.
DIP Switches are located next the the 9-pin Dconnector. In order to activate the alarm sensors thecorresponding switch has to be in the “ON” positionon the DIP switch. The relay output or the buzzer orthe green LED can be separately set for momentaryor latch operation. If for example DIP Switch SW1 isset to “ON”, when the left sensor is active, the relayand the green LED will be energized in the latchmode. It will remain latched until the RESET button ispressed or external RESET TTL signal is applied.
