Description Product Family Overview
The XB Series offers a complete terminal block system with a universal range ofaccessories. Marking, bridging andtesting accessories are standardizedacross the different clamping technologies-- reducing inventory and logisticscosts. The modular terminal blockdesign allows for use of the differentterminal block types together orindividually, providing the highestdegree of flexibility.
The metal portion of the XB Seriesterminal blocks are made from high-grade,strain-crack and corrosion proofcopper alloys. They won’t experienceany electrolytic corrosion or rusting,even when moisture is present. Themetal surfaces are protected with alead-free, galvanic nickel or tin plating.The good electrical conductivity permitsonly a low temperature rise. ThePolyamide 6.6 housings allow foroperating temperatures up to 125°Cand are certified for inflammabilityClass V0 in accordance with UL 94.
Flexible plug-in bridge system-- All three technologies (Screw, Spring andIDC) use the same bridge system,allowing for individual potential distributionand quickly bridged connectionsamong the same terminal blocktype or across different types. TheXB Series terminal blocks have two bridgeshafts arranged in one line, makingflexible chain bridging and skip bridgingbetween non-adjacent terminalblocks possible. Plug-in bridges areavailable from 2 to 50 positions.Reducing bridges are also available toconnect a larger terminal block to asmaller one.
Large surface area for marking-- All XB Series terminal blocks have generouslysized surface areas for labeling.This allows for clearly labeled wiringwhich results in reduced start-up timeand simplifies activities such as testingand maintenance. There are provisionsfor marking individual terminalblocks and end stops, strips ofterminal blocks, and large groupsof terminal blocks.
Standardized testing system-- All test plugs make contact in one of theeasily accessible bridge shafts. A2.3 mm diameter test plug is availablefor individual measuring wires.Modular test plugs are also availablefor more advanced testing.
The XBUT D multi-conductor terminal blocks offer aspace-saving alternative to standard feedthroughterminal blocks allowing for highdensity wiring. Often, three connectionshave to be led to one terminal block. TheXBUT D12 terminal block accomplishes thiswithout any additional terminal blocks orbridging required. The XBUT D22 terminalblocks allow four wires to be connected toone potential and can therefore be used ascompact power distributors.
