Description

The TXDIN101 is a computerized,PC programmable, galvanicallyisolated two-wire smart transmitter.The unit converts 13 types ofthermocouple sensors; 12 typesof RTD sensors, configured as2-, 3- and 4-wires; potentiometer,resistor and millivolt inputs, singleor differential—into process currentloop. Integral 3% digits LEDdisplay forms a transmitter—monitorunit which is visiable in darkinstallations. The light intensity varies as a function of the current loop, which serves as the light energy source 24-bit A/D converterand two microprocessors arethe heart of the outstandingperformance. The transmittercan be set and wired to performdifferential measurementconversions of temperature sensorsas well as mV sources. The outputcurrent is temperature linearizedand can be set to be 4 to 20/20 to4mA—or any range within theselimits. The current is limited to3.9 and 22 mA.The TXDIN101samples and updates the outputcurrent in a rate of 2 to 4 samplesper second depends on the sensortype. The transmitter is fullyconfigurable in dry-configurationmode by which the connection toPC is performed with no externalpower source. The configurationparameters are stored in a nonvolatilememory. Exceptional digitalaccuracy of typically ±0.1°C isprovided for most sensorsregardless of the calibrated span.Internal Pt-100 temperature sensorprovides precise cold junctioncompensation throughout the entireambient range. Detection of sensorbreakage or disconnection of inputleads, forces the output to a predefinedup/down scale value.The unit continuously monitors thesensor and automatically returns tonormal operation mode when thesensor is recovered. The TXDIN101is housed in a plastic enclosuremounted on a standard DIN rail.Special red filter is provided foroptimal view.
