The trodeks® CS8DPt is aportable benchtop digital controllerand with a large color-changingdisplay. This benchtop controller featuresdual LED displays that canbe programmed to change colorbetween Green, Amber, andRed at any setpoint or alarmpoint. Other options include, serialcommunications, andEthernet.

This universal temperatureand process instrumenthandles 10 common types ofthermocouples, multiple RTDs,thermistorsand several process (DC) voltage & current ranges, and strain type of inputs.

Embedded Internet
This trodeks benchtop devices canserve Web pages over an EthernetLAN or even over the Internet,making it possible to monitor andcontrol a process through a Webbrowser (such as Microsoft InternetExplorer®) from anywhere in thefacility or anywhere in the world.

Remote Control
For example, using an CS8DPtSeries temperature controller tocontrol a heater, an engineer canmonitor the temperature, changesetpoints or alarm points, turn theheater on and off, or make othermodifications from anywhere on thelocal network or anywhere on theInternet. The Web pages are easilycustomized, and secure, password protectedaccess to the devices iseasily controlled. And it requiresabsolutely no special software onthe engineer’s computer to view thedata and “supervise” the controller—nothing other than a Web browser.

E-Mail and Alarm
In fact, the Cs8DPt controllercan even send an e-mail to theengineer (or anyone he or shechooses) about an alarm conditionor to update the status. Leveragingthe technology of the Internet, theengineer could receive a messagefrom the controller onan Internet-enabled pager or cellphone.

Most remarkable is that all thiscan be accomplished without acomputer. The trodeks® CS8DPt controllerwith fully loaded communication options connects directly to the Ethernetnetwork—not to the serial port of acomputer functioning as a “server”and “master” to “slave” instrumentsconnected through serialcommunications. With the loaded C24 option, these devices are also available withRS232 and RS485, and MODBUSserial communications.
