The FMA1700A/1800A Serieseletronic gas mass flowmetersprovide for monitoring the flow of awide variety of gases from 10 SCCMup to 1000 SLM. Utilizing heattransfer through a heated tube tomeasure molecular gas flow rate,the FMA1700A/1800A providesmeasurement of direct gas massflow rate, without the need tocompensate for variations in gastemperature or pressure (withinstated limits). They are available inan economical aluminum/brassconstruction for typical gas flowsand a 316 SS construction forapplications requiring morecorrosion resistance. TheFMA1700A series withoutintegral display is supplied with afield selectable analog 0 to 5 Vdcor 4 to 20 mA output for remotemonitoring; the FMA1800A serieshas both an integral 3½ digit displayand analog output. The display istiltable over 90 degrees for viewingconvenience. The display iscalibrated standard to read outdirectly in SCCM or SLM fornitrogen (other gas calibrationsavailable on special order).Due to their low cost, digitaldisplay, analog output capability,and insensitivity to variations in gastemperature and pressure, theFMA1700A/1800A Series are idealsubstitutes for many rotameterapplications. When used with theFMA178BP portable battery pack,the FMA1800A Series are ideal forin-the-field calibration of flowmetersor testing of air sampling equipment.The FMA178BP battery packincludes batteries, recharger, andcarrying case with shoulder strapand belt loop. With the FMA178BP,the flowmeter can operate in excessof 40 hours; the batteries can berecharged at least 200 times.The FMA1700A/1800A Seriesrequire 12 to 26 Vdc power @200 mA maximum, which can besupplied by the FMA178PW plug-insocket power supply. Theelectronics are reverse polarityprotected and has externallyaccessiblefusing. Model numberFMA178C (supplied separately)provides a mating 9-pin “D”connector with 3 feet of ribbon cablefor accessing the 0 to 5 Vdc outputsignal and power input connections(use FMA178C-MA for 4 to 20 mAoutput signal connection).The LCD supplied with theFMA1800A Series is connectedto the lower electronics via amodular plug. The LCD can beremotely located by purchasing anFMA18RC remote cable assemblyyoumust then build your ownassembly for panel mountingthe LCD.
