Description

The OMB-DAQTEMP-14A dataacquisition card provides a totalhardware/software/signalconditioning solution for highaccuracy,high speed temperature,voltage, frequency, and pulsecounting measurements, plus digitalI/O and analog output.

A diversified software is includedwith the OMB-DAQTEMP-14A, includingDaqView software, plus drivers forDASYLab, LabView, and Windowsbasedlanguages including VisualBasic and C++.

OMB-DAQTEMP-14A hardware iscomprised of a plug-n-play PCIboard, 3 ft cable, and a screwterminal/signal conditioning pod.Cold-junction compensation isbuilt-in to the OMB-DAQTEMP-14A,providing highly accuratethermocouple measurements, withchannel-to-channel variation andnoise typically less than 0.2°C,and absolute accuracy typicallybetter than 1.0°C. This isaccomplished by having a separatelow-noise, bandwidth-limitedamplifier per thermocouple channel.OMB-DAQTEMP-14A provides14 thermocouple inputchannels. All power for theOMB-DAQTEMP-14A is derived from thePC, so there is no need for externalpower supplies or transformers.

In addition to thermocouple inputs,OMB-DAQTEMP-14A also provides 7differential voltage input channels,with 16 bit resolution andprogrammable full scale inputranges from +156 mV to +10 V.The 4 frequency input channels canmeasure frequency or count pulsesup to 10 MHz. Two timer outputchannels are capable of generatingsquare outputs up to 1 MHz.

Twenty four digital I/O lines are alsoincluded, which can be programmedin 8 bit groups as either inputs oroutputs.

The 16 bit/100K Hz analogoutputs can be used to generatewaveforms, with a virtually infinitewaveform output length possiblefrom PC memory.

All inputs and outputs are accessedvia convenient screw terminalslocated on the signal conditioningpod. The cover of the signalconditioning pod is easily removableto gain access the screw terminalsfor signal connections.

DAQVIEW SOFTWARE
The included DaqView softwareallows you to verify signalconnections, acquire and save datato disk, and graphically view realtimedata within moments of takingyour installing your system. Easilyset up all your hardware,acquisition, and display parameters,without programming, via a simplespreadsheet-style screen. DaqViewis a full featured acquisition anddisplay application that provides allthe functionality you’ll need formany datalogging applications.

DaqViewXL is an optional Exceladd-in that provides complete dataacquisition functionality. Seamlesslyintegrated into Excel’s tool palette,DaqViewXL provides you with thesame comprehensive acquisitionand display capabilities asDaqView. Excel is an ideal tool fortest engineers because it provides avariety of graph and chartingfunctions for presenting data in agraphical format, as well asmathematical and analysis functionssuch as FFTs. Excel’s ability toretrieve and manipulate previouslyacquired data in a spreadsheetformat and DaqViewXL’s advanceddata acquisition functions form acomprehensive data acquisitionsolution.
