Description
The OMB-DBK23 is a 24-linedigital-input module that providesisolated digital inputs for trodeks’sOMB-LOGBOOK andOMB-DAQBOARD-2000 Series dataacquisition systems. The unit provides500 V of channel-to-channel and 500 Vof channel-to-system optical isolation,eliminating troublesome ground loopsand protecting the data acquisitionsystem from damage caused byaccidental contact with high externalvoltages. Up to eight OMB-DBK23modules can be connected to onesystem, for a total of 192 digital inputs.
Applications
The OMB-DBK23 can monitor arange of 3 to 30 Vdc inputs, makingit especially suitable for applicationssuch as process control or laboratoryautomation. The unit is capable of monitoringelectrical devices such as proximityswitches, thermostats and limitswitches.
Connections
The OMB-DBK23 connects to asystem’s digital I/O connectorsand uses the digital I/O lines as acommunications bus. Thus, the lineson a system’s digital I/O connectorsare not user accessible when anOMB-DBK23 is in use.The OMB-DBK23 can be daisy-chainedwith other OMB-DBK digital I/O cards ormodules via optional expansion cables.Signal connections to the OMB-DBK23are made via screw terminals, which areconveniently located on its slide-out PCboard.
Power
The OMB-DBK23 is equipped with aninternal power supply and external ACadaptor. It can also be powered froman OMB-DBK30A battery/excitationmodule, a 12 Vdc car battery, or fromany 9 to 24 Vdc source.
