Description

The OMG-ULTRACOMM2-PCIprovides two field selectableRS232/422/485 serial ports forcontrol and automation applications.Configure both ports as RS232for standard serial COM: portrequirements. Choose RS422 forlong distance device connections atup to 1219 m (4000') where noise immunityand high data integrity are essential.Multi-drop up to 31 RS485 devicesto each port in a RS485 bus forautomated data collection.Mix the interfaces in any of theinterface combinations to providemaximum flexibility to yourcommunications.

In both RS232and RS422 modes, thecard works seamlessly with thestandard operating system serialdriver. In RS485 mode, our autoenable feature enables the RS485line driver during charactertransmission and disables thedriver afterward allowing thestandard COM: driver to be utilizedfor RS485 communications.A serial utility CD is suppliedwith the OMG-ULTRACOMM2-PCIwhich includes all the Windowstools necessary to verifythe installation and operation of theboard. WIN XP/Vista/7drivers are included as well assupport for Linux.The drivers provide IRQ sharing,advanced UART support and serialdiagnostic utilities.
