Description

The DRA-MDM-11 is a mux/demuxsystem which transfers analoginformation accurately via a singlepair of wires. The multiplexer unit(DRA-M-11) accepts up to sixteen4-20 mA process current inputs.The multiplexed inputs aretransferred to the demultiplexer unit(DRA-DM-11) at a scan rate of up to1000 channels/sec up to a distanceof 2 kilometers (1.2 miles).At the demultiplexer the currentoutputs are reproduced in the sameorder and magnitude as the inputs.The demultiplexer is provided withan alarm (flashing LED and drycontact output) which is operatedwhenever there is any interruption incommunication due to mux failure,cable discontinuity or short-circuit.Use of the DRA-MDM-11mux/demux system enables aconsiderable reduction in cablingcosts for a new installation orconsiderable expansion of analogdata transfer capability in anexisting installation.
